R/II/G/62

To: Benjamin Disraeli

From: James Disraeli

Date unknown, but placed between Disraeli's claim that Sarah is "sinking but fighting" and Ralph's report of her final goodbyes. It would seem, as this is James's first letter concerning Sarah, that he has only just arrived to the scene, and was left in charge of Sarah for long enough to warrent writing a report to Disraeli.

inverse on bottom of page 2: Dea [James must have begun the letter here, but elected for a more personal salutation]

My dear Dis -

It is quite impossible

to say how it is with

our Dear Sa, she has

been very very bad

indeed, but at this

moment she is something

better I know, it appears

eating now at her

chest, she keeps quite

herself - but I should

say from myself she

is not so gradually

fading, Bryant has

not yet come -

Yours Ever

James D---
