Dear Mr Disraeli

The accom-

panying volume was intended for

your dear sister as an affectionate

& grateful acknowledgement on my

part of her kind feelings in seeking

to renew our ancient friendship.

On this ground alone you would

perhaps allow me to transmit it

to yourself, but I am glad also of

an opportunity of making it testify

to my grateful rememberence of the

kind advocacy which in past times

you have never refused me when my

efforts for Arctic search needed support

in Parliment.

Believe me dear Mr Disraeli

very truly yours

Jane Franklin.
