B/XX/M/111

To: Benjamin Disraeli

From: John Manners

Dec. 22nd 1859

letterhead: St. Katherine's Lodge

Regents Park

Dec. 22nd 1859.

My dear D

When I saw Mrs Disraeli

a few days ago in London she told

me of your sister's serious illness

but I was truly shocked to see

in the papers how suddenly it was

brought to a fatal end.

The first great sorrow I knew

was the death of a sister, and

I can therefore feel with and

for you in your present grief.

That time may reconcile you to the

loss you have sustained, and that

in preparation for the coming

Season you may find immediate

distraction is, my dear D, the

earnest wish of

Yours ever truly

John Manners
