My dear Ralph.

Mary Anne sends

you her love = she is

very anxious for you,

but she must not

leave the house -

Perhaps, you could call

on her, or, as she suggests,

dine with us alone today

quite quietly - not even

James - today.

She has had a terrible

night, but the pain

ceases when she cries -

She impressed upon me

to say that she much

wishes

wishes to see you, & has

much to say to you. Pray

dine with us!

Yours affectionate,

D.
